Northcenter was voted one of Chicago's best neighborhoods by the Chicago Magazine in 2014. It is a vibrant neighborhood with retail, restaurants, live music and theater and Lane Tech High School. Despite being well known for decades, neither Roscoe Village nor St. Ben's neighborhoods are on on any official Chicago city map.

1904-1967 – Roscoe Village was home to Riverview Park, a 76-acre amusement park, stretching from Belmont to Lane Tech High School, and from Western to the Chicago River. Today, the Area 3 Police Headquarters, DePaul College Prep, and Riverview Plaza Center occupy the space.
