Buena Park, just north of Irving Park Road, was added to the
National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It was developed in 1890s as an upper-class "suburban" neighborhood of Chicago with big, beautiful homes. The original houses are mostly
Queen Anne and
Romanesque Revival designs, with newer twentieth-century houses in the
Prairie School and
Classical Revival styles. By the 1930's, while Buena Park was still a wealthy neighborhood, apartment buildings were built in between the Victorian Homes.
