Wet Building Solutions' owner Bob Kelly has been coaching building owners on moisture intrusion repair planning and structural engineering projects in Boystown, now called Northalsted, since he invented and founded WickRight Passive Ventilation in 2012. Boystown/Northalsted...
The Boystown or Northalsted section of Lakeview is the nation's first officially recognized gay village and cultural center of one of the largest LGBTQ communities in the nation. Nightlife features over 60 LGBTQ bars, restaurants and nightclubs and each June the area hosts the annual Chicago Pride Parade, one of the largest gay pride parades in the nation.
The area is attempting to change its name from Boystown to Northalstead. Efforts to change the name started in 2021 and "Boystown" has been dropped by some businesses and community organizations in exchange for Northalsted. Despite the renaming efforts, many still called the area Boystown.
